Fibre Drums

Drum body

The drum body is made of multiple layers of kraft paper and paperboard to form a shell. Different types of adhesives are used in the construction, each serving a specific function to enhance the strength of the shell. The drum body can be finished in plain form, inner laminated, outer laminated, or with lamination between the layers (sandwich). The drum body is tested to meet specific strength requirements.

Lids

The lids consist of a top and bottom lid, with the bottom lid usually fixed permanently to the drum. ABC has developed drums with removable top and bottom lids with special treatment suited for the explosives industry. ABC offers the following lid options:

Rings

The drums come with three rings, two of which are permanently fixed to the drum. The lock ring is removable to aid in opening the lid. The rings are made of galvanized steel, capable of withstanding long sea journeys without rusting.
